Breakfast Forum - Overcoming Barriers for the Underemployed

Breakfast Forum - Overcoming Barriers for the Underemployed

Citizens Research Council of Michigan President Eric Lupher presented highlights of a new report on underemployment in Michigan, exploring both the scale of this challenge and barriers to those experiencing underemployment. This was followed by a panel including David Meador, DTE; Greg Pitoniak, Southeast Michigan Community Alliance; and Kelvin Squires, Center Line Electric, Inc. As a participant, Tammie Jones was surprised to hear about our low workforce participation rates in the state, and curious to know more about how the disaggregation of data by race, gender and the intersection of those two characteristics would shift the study's conclusions.
