482Forward Fall 2019 Conference: Our Fight for Budgets that Reflect our Values

In November 2019, 482Forward convened their Semi-Annual Membership Conference at Marygrove College. The conference is a central gathering of 482Forward members and partner organizations from all across the city of Detroit. Vital information impacting children and families was shared, from preparing for the census to understanding the challenges driving inequity in school finance. EarlyWorks staff attended as both members and presenters, representing the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan’s Southeast Michigan Counts 2020 Census campaign. Mary Aviles and Mobo Ayeni led an engaging workshop to help the community prepare for the census, knowing the significant financial implications of not being counted.
